Am i getting Old?

Skinny Jeans, WTF? First of all, I would like to say that in real life I would NEVER use a stupid acronym like "wtf", but for risk of getting the boot, I am monitoring my otherwise cororful vocabulary. Anyway...am I the only 25-30something that is confused by this trend toward Skinny Jeans? Sure, we wore them in the 80's, but everything else then looked ridiculous too. And sure, these jeans look awesome on a tall, thin model, wearing heals, and I admit I have been fooled once or twice into trying them on, but seriously ladies, are they really all that flattering on a normal human being? Maybe I am just upset at slowing loosing my teenybopper pant size?

At first I didn't like skinny jeans either, but now I like to wear them with boots. I think they look a lot better than regular jeans that tend to get scrunched up and look sloppy tucked into boots. Its pretty cold and snowy here, I have to wear boots and pants in the Winter, and this is my favorite way to do it.
your right about the boots, that does look cute.
I hate it when i see hipster kids wearing skinny jeans with nike dunks and flat rim hats. I trip them when they walk by.
I think if worn right, like everything, they can work. I also think there are some figures that should not wear skinnies because it's not what is flattering to their body. I have a fashion inspiration list on kaboodle and its full of pictures of women in skinnes and they look great!
I thought the skinny trend was dumb at first too. I thought, what normal person can wear these? Who wants to be poured into a pair of jeans anyway? But, I bought a couple pair just to wear with tall boots that had great details on them that needed to not be hidden under regular boot cut jeans. I found a brand and style that I really liked the way they looked and felt. They weren't as skin tight as other skinny jeans -- I guess they were more like straight leg. So now, because of that particular jean, I love them (delia's morgan skinny jeans). I like how they look with heels and ballet flats, I like to wear them under long tunic tops instead of legging sometimes, since jeans are warmer, and slightly more forgiving to any figure issues. I am 29, and have two kids, so I am definitely not a model type, and I've seen these things on me in pictures, and I think they look pretty good.
I think hophead hit it on the head: don't mistake the current fashion of calling everything the "skinny jean" or "skinny pants" for the actual style of what looks good. Actually, I'd be pretty confident that many jeans marketed as "skinny" make fashion moguls grimace, as they'd never fit on their size-zero models. So the real question is, do you feel comfortable and look confident in "skinny jeans"? Do they fit you -- not your body -- but your personality?
Well I hated skinny jeans too when they came back in style. I said I would never own a pair, but I finaly just bought some. And now I wish I had more pairs. But I am tall, and for the most part skinny, except for my stomach and love handles, lol.
so, someone suggested delia's morgan, any other suggestions?
When skinny jeans started to get big, I actually swore left and right that's I'd NEVER wear or own a pair. The whole idea of a SKINNY jean revolted me. That is, until I tried on a pair....I'm now a skinny jean fanatic. If you get a pair that fits you right (there's not just one kind of skinny jean....some hug your thighs and fall straight at the knee, some hug you tighter in some places and less in others...you get the point), they can be the comfiest and most flattering jeans ever. I always imagined skinny jeans to be tight and restrictive, but my favorite pair (black Miss Me's) is just a tiny bit stretchy and is like a wonderful jean-hug all around me =] They're very versatile too. So don't give up on the skinny jeans!! They want to love you :P
