ISO: Best Skincare Line EVER

Okay, ladies and germs. They did something to the formula of my La Roche Posay and now I need your hardcore help.

What are your absolute favorite price-is-no-object magic in a jar skincare solutions? Looking for a moisturizer and an eye cream. Still using Clinique's toner and fairly happy with it.

My concerns are these:
  • I have sinus issues that cause anything heavily perfumed or botanical to give me headaches. Chemicals actually okay as long as they aren't strong.
  • I have combination skin such that I am at the same time oily and flaky in my t-zone and kind of sallow on my cheeks.
  • I need something for day that absorbs well (so I can wear makeup) but still makes me skin feel moist.

Please please please tell me you have the magics!

PS: Asking over at my regular blog: Should I keep this LAMB dress? Help me decide! (So far, the answer is yes!)

  • I have combination skin, & have sworn by Olay skin care products for nearly 20 years! I recommend trying Olay Total Effects Fragrance-Free Daily Moisturizer & Olay Total Effects Eye Transforming Cream. Let us know what you end up buying. Would love to read your review! • I just started using Burt's Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream. It feels good on my face, but as I only JUST started using it about a week ago, not sure if I really recommend it yet. Never used a moisturizer before. Hope you find what you're looking for! Report Spam Posted by sorapandora at 2:51 PM on 01/17/12

  • P.S. That dress looks great on you. Another vote for KEEP! Report Spam Posted by sorapandora at 2:52 PM on 01/17/12

  • can't help you w/ the skincare stuff (I use this and like it: http://www.target.com/p/Yes-To-Tomatoes-Totally-Tranquil-Facial-Hydrating-Lotion-1-7-oz/-/A-11269650), but you should def keep the LAMB dress. Report Spam Posted by ftw at 2:54 PM on 01/17/12

  • Thanks for the help, ladies (both about the skin and the dress!). I'm making a list to research! Report Spam Posted by alicatstrut at 2:55 PM on 01/17/12

  • I use a company called Skin Authority, but you can't purchase otc. It's full skin care products and 5 "peels" a year. Don't know if they are just in San Diego, but I've been using them for about 6 years now. They have a website if you're interested. :) Report Spam Posted by luv2kreate at 6:05 PM on 01/17/12

  • @luv2kreate - Thanks. I'll have to look into whether they do samples/money back guarantee or something. My skin and nose are so freaking temperamental. Report Spam Posted by alicatstrut at 6:19 PM on 01/17/12

  • I have sinus issues too (relating to allergies) and have to stay away from fragrances as well. For a moisturizer, I use CeraVe lotion on my face twice a day. I have eczema so I get dry skin and it's very sensitive to most ingredients found in other moisturizers. Unfortunately I can't use most products out there but this one does work for me. • If I ever used anything it has to be for sensitive skin and little to no smell Because I have very sensitive skin and strong odors will interfer with my asthma and thank you for sharing <3 Love, Linda Report Spam Posted by hawklns1 at 7:03 PM on 01/17/12

  • No No No don't return that dress. It is fearless and spunk I love it it fits you like it was made for you and only you!!! : } Report Spam Posted by kelsjax at 11:47 PM on 01/17/12

  • I really like Philosophy products. I've tried quite a few different moisturizers and theirs are my favorite so far. I have oily-acne prone skin. Right now (wintertime) my skin requires more moisture so I use Hope in a Jar and in the summer I use the Oil-Free version. And of course you can return anything to Sephora if it doesn't work out. Keep us updated if you find something you love! Report Spam Posted by sweeetkristen at 7:15 AM on 01/18/12

  • I think if you are looking for something fragrance free Clinique is really good :) I really like the Super defense moisturizers. They give just enough moisture and also have sun protection. Report Spam Posted by ellie989 at 10:27 AM on 01/23/12

  • That dress is really awesome, don't get rid of it.I'm also on a quest for a nice skin care product. Report Spam Posted by atsumi at 4:06 PM on 02/02/12

  • I have really dry skin, so my personal choices probably won't be that helpful, but I will say that maybe one product won't do it for you. I personally have about 3 depending on how my skin is-dryer, normal, oilier. During the winter I tend to use Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, but I have super dry skin so it might be too greasy for you. It may be too botanical for you but I had good results with Zia brand products when I was in the states. I seem to recall getting a sampler pack for about $10-15 from my local co-op to see what I thought the first time I used them. Dove does a good inexpensive eye cream that has sunscreen in it. When I was in Japan, the humidity gave me truly combo skin and I found that DHC olive oil actually did not make me break out, but during the truly humid days it didn't absurd as well as a gel lotion. I have tried loads of eye creams and don't think there's much difference in them but SPF is always good. Currently I use...day use Clinique yellow lotion with a squirt of Clinique city block for the winter and the city block the rest of the year for day use and an oil moisturiser at night, either DHC or Ecco Bella. One of my friend always scores free samples by talking about her allergies to the skincare sales people and they always load her up to give things a whirl at home before she buys. Could be worth hitting up a department store and trying that out! Report Spam Posted by elenalee at 3:30 AM on 02/13/12
