The Instyler...yay or neigh?

Instyler Rotating Hot...
So for christmas i got an instyler. For those who may not know what an instyler is, it's a rotating iron that straightens, flips, and supposedly curls (my hairs naturally curly so i wouldnt know).
So from instyler commercials i was pretty phyched. It has tons of great reviews including those from The View, E! News, so on so forth. It is also supposedly less damaging on hair than your plain of flat iron.
Here's what i think of it...it is really fast and the whole rotating concept is really cool, however there are some things i'm less thrilled about. For instance, it says it's not too damaging but i used this thing for like less than a minute and it was like so hot i was afraid to put it down anywhere, plus it totally burnt me =O but this also makes it fast i suppose. another thing is that, the commercials talk of it leaving hair looking glossy and stuff, well because of the brush it leaves your hair..um not frizzy, but the texture you get when your hair is all staticy.
So if any of you own an instyler, tell me what you get out of it. Thanks for reading. happy holidays

  • I dont own one but I know the make up of the hair....1st you need to make sure that you have a product on your hair that protects it from heat....2nd on each strand of hair we have cuticles, these cuticles are what makes our hair look frizzy, they will stick up on each strand, the point of the brush is to pull each cuticle down as you style...3rd this iron is designed to cut styling time in half, instead of having to brush each section we are about to style before we do it does it for you. This is great for time just rough on the hair with the heat! PROTECT it!!!Garnier has a great product for that. Report Spam Posted by ksmithmh at 4:20 PM on 12/28/09

  • Great review, thanks. I wouldn't trust the reviews on sites like the ones you listed. I prefer review sites with totally user generated content. Report Spam Posted by emyko at 5:20 PM on 12/28/09

  • CHI and ghd are always the best way to go when you purchase starighteners. But if theyre out of your price range, Rusk straighteners are very good on all types of hair. [No.1 rule: never EVER purchase infomercial items..expecially when they're straighteners and/or knives]..haha Report Spam Posted by barbieinthecity at 8:45 PM on 12/28/09

  • Thank you for the review. Is there any type of product you can put in your hair before using this to make it shinier? What about those heat activated products? Just a thought... Report Spam Posted by jolieznor at 6:06 PM on 12/29/09
