Holiday Lighting Decor

When I was a small tot (what great grandma used to call me), my home was a haven of decadently delicious scents like: ginger bread, cinnamon, and peppermint, during the holidays. Something was always baking in that kitchen of ours. I had an insatiable sweet-tooth, so our refrigerator and plump snowman cookie jars were practically jammed with frosted cinnamon buns, chewy toffee chocolate bars, and sprinkled sugar cookies.
Like shimmering diamonds on a cold winter’s evening, our luminescent chandelier and holiday décor fanned over all our our home like fresh frost. My frilly green, red, and ivory snowflake cut-outs around our windows and mirrors. Stair cases, the kitchen, and living room were a stunning vision of deep cherry plum red and gaudy gold.
Decorating our home for the holidays was a very special event for my family. I remember guests noting the décor we put up and their compliments and smiles. Laughter, hugs, and sharing as well as comfort for all in our home, is something we all aim for.
