WIW -- Jeanius!

Whoever invented the concept of boyfriend jeans is a true genius.

Can it possibly get ANY better than a pair of loose, slouchy, comfy jeans that you can dress up or down?

AND perhaps the best part about buying my Levi's 501 button-fly boyfriend jeans pictured above was that I could buy them two sizes smaller than regular jeans!   Now, THAT is a stand up and cheer moment!

The rest of the outfit?
-- Boho-style tunic from my fave store in Canada, Jacob
-- Necklace from Martin + Osa
-- Watch by L.A.M.B
-- Strappy sandals from Franco Sarto at Nordstrom

  • Shari, you look fabulous as always!! But I'll tell you who invented the boyfriend jean, girls like us who were in high school in 1990! I literally collected jeans from boyfriends that sat low on the hips, had real rips (not contrived ones) and I folded over and rolled the cuff!!! I had Corey's jeans, Josh's jeans, and maybe some others :) Then some 35ish year old creative director looked back at her high school pix and came up with the idea. • Thanks, everyone!Kim, you are SO right. I remember wearing my BF's jeans as well... rolled up and cinched at the waist with a big leather belt. Hmmmm.... maybe it's time to go back and look at those high school yearbooks again.... there could be another new trend right under our very noses! :-) Report Spam Posted by sasha_d at 12:50 PM on 06/25/10

  • You look cute AND comfortable (the best possible combination)! I wore 501's when I was in middle school and high school in the 90's - 501's and flared jeans with peasant tops and Birkie's. Report Spam Posted by lynnie482 at 10:57 AM on 06/29/10
