For Love of Hats!

Yes, I do LOVE hats. Since the weather where I live is getting pretty cold and winter arrives right before Christmas, I have been checking out winter hats. Winter hats have to look pretty, a tad unique, and romantic to meet my criteria. Most importantly, winter hats have to be very warm, preferably with a way to tighten the hat around your neck and ears so they will stay comfy.

However, I love very dressy showy hats too. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and New Year's are all celebrated with parties and BLING.  Hats are the cherry on the top of your outfit bling IMHO. So this is the perfect time of year to find a truly unusual, amazing, attention getting, beautiful to you....and stunning with slight controversy to everyone else.

The pictures with this blog include my two favorite choices for bling and beauty, stunning and controversy. The bright red seasonal bow is the PERFECT holiday party hat. It is a couture hat by Arturio Rios....I think he should be awarded an equivalent of the nobel prize in Holiday Party  Hats.

The next hat is by the same designer and, while I love it and it certainly is stunning, unique, eye catching, amazing, beautiful to me, and, I suspect, somewhat controversial....all perfect qualities for the holiday bling topper. You can always count on Rios for both stunning and controversial products.

The final hat pictured in this blog is a beautiful, soft, attractive hoodie hat that flows seamlessly into a tiny capelet covering your ears, and neck completely. There are buttons for making the hat fit snug enough to keep out roaring winter winds. Most importantly, the soft neutral color, the feminine curves and the way this hat frames the face gives the wearer an oh so yummy Romantic look!

If you are just aching to see more hats, check out my lists, Hats and Hats Two with enough choices to satisfy anyone. Let me know what you think of my picks.

I have so missed participating fully in Kaboodle over the past few months, but I have been working to bring in some needed income for my family. I missed you all, and it's great to be here again.

Hoping to see lots of your comments about these hats!
Thank you for reading my blog, and for your continued support.

Smiles to All, Paws 72 (Pat)

  • Happy holidays!...drove the 2,726 miles to move back to WA state just before Thanksgiving...get to see my son tomorrow!....love hats, too, but only wear some during the Winter...interesting choices! Report Spam Posted by artisangoods at 8:53 PM on 12/14/11

  • The first one reminds be of a butterfly swooping down, the middle one's crazy fun and the last one while maybe a touch too cute (or is that just the candy cane) does really well for the homespun look, it's still delicate and tasteful. Report Spam Posted by markblemish at 10:28 PM on 12/14/11

  • Fun picks Pat!!! : } Report Spam Posted by kelsjax at 10:50 PM on 12/14/11

  • I like hats, too!!! These are interesting, to say the least!!! I really like the "hoodie"!!!!! I really don't wear too many hats, mainly baseball-type caps!!! Report Spam Posted by susan_brown at 12:08 AM on 12/15/11

  • I like hats too but I wouldn't want to call attention to myself with the first two hats. The last one is the one that I would wear. But I'll probably just keep to my The North Face beanie thermal caps. Report Spam Posted by nance60 at 3:53 AM on 12/15/11

  • Hi Pat!! Great to see you :) I love that last hat, so comfy & super cute! Report Spam Posted by luv2kreate at 6:10 AM on 12/15/11

  • Hi Pat! So great to see your hats! I know what you mean about time constraints. I haven't had time to blog or create in months but I still stop by to look and comment. So I'd appreciate the first two hats on the runway, but they might cause a giggle if I saw them on the street. Don't know how I missed the hoodie in the Sundance catalog. Love it! I think my hubby is secretly tossing my catalogs before I can get my hands on them! Report Spam Posted by margareto at 6:19 AM on 12/15/11

  • I love love love the hoodie, def would wear this in Vancouver. it looks so soft & cozy, v stylish & practical. My fave of the couture hats is the red bow..v creative!!! I don't wear hats nearly as much as I'd like to, they flatten my hair (which is already pretty flat to begin with!) and i find i can't wear buns/ponytails with a hat on. • The red bow hat is amazing! I very rarely wear hats, I find them uncomfortable. I have a few crochet floppy beanie style hats but never seem to wear them. Report Spam Posted by x0xsharicex0x at 4:26 PM on 12/16/11

  • I too, love a good hat. I have ever since I was a little girl, when I chopped off all my long golden locks and refused to take the hat off my head, lest my mother discover what I'd done [she did!] =D Very awesome selection you've chosen to highlight, that second one is a trip! • That bow hat is OUT OF CONTROL!!!! WILD! Report Spam Posted by calypsoart at 10:32 AM on 12/20/11

  • I go thru stages with hats. I own an awful lot of them for how often I actually wear them. I did a "hat wall" in my house once (they were hung for decoration). It looked pretty cool. I love that red one! Report Spam Posted by miss_daphne at 9:54 PM on 12/20/11

  • The hoodie is so cute. Looks comfy & warm. My hats are pretty conservative - sun hats, baseball caps, beanies, buckets hats & headwraps. I love wearing them all. Report Spam Posted by cimino68 at 10:13 AM on 12/27/11

  • That big red number is over the top fabulous! Report Spam Posted by empressjadevintage at 11:40 AM on 01/18/12
