Picture: My husband is the one in back with the hat on, our 13 year old is next (clockwise), the one with sunglasses is our youngest son of our five older children, he is holding his youngest child, his wife and their oldest child are next. The little girl in front wearing the pinkish top is their second oldest. The little boy with the superman shirt is my son's third child, then the one with the red shirt is our 11 year old son. Taken when my son brought us on vacation with them.
1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?
Bars of Dial and Dove, bottles of some kind of guy's body wash and bottles of no-name body wash.
2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?
Nope.
3. Is there anything moldy in your refrigerator?
Nope.
4. Are there any dirty dishes in your sink?
Most likely.
5. What would you change about your living room?
Well, we have four rooms that COULD be called a living room, but I am going to go with the largest, which is the one we put bamboo flooring and two walls striped like the front cover of Brown Bear, Brown Bear....so , nothing.
6. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
No dishwasher, well he doesn't HOLD them.
7. Do you have a can of mushrooms in your pantry?
No.
8. White or wheat/brown bread?
White, my sons and husband eat boring food
9. What is on top of your refrigerator?
Pretzels, Potato Chips, Cheese Puffs, Corn Chips, Animal Crackers.
10. What color is your sofa?
The one upstairs is brown microfiber. The one downstairs used to be really nice and it is a plaid with soft mauves and teal and ivory.
11. What color or design is on your shower curtain?
Blue with dolphins.
12. How many plants are in your home?
One. I usually kill them, but this one is really special. It is a Christmas cactus and it was my mother's, so I take very good care of it. It blooms twice a year and is beautiful. It has had to be put in a bigger pot twice since she died.
13. How many candles are in your home?
Until Irene blew through, I thought, lots of them. It turned out...not that many....very few now.
14. Is your bed made right now?
Don't know.
15. If you have a coffee pot, what color is it?
No coffeepot. Dunkin Donuts for me and Starbucks for my husband
16. Electric or standard can opener?
Standard.
17. Comet or Soft Scrub?
Both.
18. Is your closet organized?
Yes, but it's very full so it looks a little disorganized.
19. What color is the flashlight that you use the most?
Two are black and orange, two are bright red (one is hand cranked), two are gray. If we need one, we need all of them.
20. What kinds of things are in your junk drawer?
Paperclips, scotch tape, scissors, pens, pencils, note cards, various playing cards and game pieces, a couple of curtain hooks, a baby name book, a few pages from a really old address book, magnets, pushpins, a little book showing shadows of people and telling you what their body stance is telling you, a couple of "In Memoriam cards, some handouts from home shows over the years...like teaspoon measurers, a couple of name tags from places I used to work, some cub scout badges, colored pencils, highlighters, a small ruler, an old pencil compass. It's a very long drawer.
21. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
I use glasses ONLY, but the rest of my family uses both.
22. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?
I don't, but it sounds good.

Shades and/or curtains
25. How many pillows do you sleep with?
Two
26. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?
Not unless my husband and sons are camping with the boy scouts. Then I sleep with ALL the lights on ALL night.
27. How many ceiling fans are in your home?
Two
28. How often do you vacuum?
Weekly. (I'm just going to go with that)
29. Standard toothbrush or electric?
Standard.
30. What color is your toothbrush?
Mine is purple with a white stripe
31. Do you have a welcome mat outside your front door?
No, people kept tripping on it.
32. What is in your oven right now?
Oven racks
33. Is your microwave clean or dirty?
Clean.
34. Is there anything under your bed?
OH, yeah, but no way I am going to try and find out what it is.
35. Chore you hate doing the most?
Changing beds....My left arm doesn't open or close all the way and I can't wave the sheet in the air and have it land squarely.
36. What retro items are in your home?
Right off the top....my husband is the most retro, and I am next. After us, it would be much easier to list what is NOT retro....and that would include our 11 and 13 year old sons. I am also seeing our everyday things being sold in vintage stores.
37. Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?
I have a room I use as a craft, writing, picture compiling room.
38, IF you have a yard who mows it?
Richard, my husband does. But he doesn't water it, so it usually dies pretty quickly, or not exactly dies, because you can still tell it's green, but it doesn't grow...he only has to do it two or three times a year.
39. Is there anything on your kitchen floor right now?
There might be, when you have as many grandkids as I do, there pretty often is something or other....a toy car here, couple of legos, sometimes an m and m. I always manage to get them though.
40. How many mirrors are in your home?
One in each bathroom and one full length door one upstairs and downstairs.
41. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?
If we do, it isn't mine, and I didn't hide it.
42. What color are your walls?
Green, Yellow, White, Blue, Beige, Teal, Pink, Purple, and repeats of Teal, and green.
43. Which rooms in your house have wallpaper?
One kitchen, one bathroom, and one wall of each of three bedrooms.
44. Do you have a peephole in your front door?
No....we have a little crack though.
45. Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?
Once I called the police because I thought there was a robber in the house and when they came they were surprised to see me holding our fire extinguisher in an intimidating fashion.....they said that was a great idea. We have steak knifes, and frying pans. We have cooking oil.
46. What does your home smell like right now?
Fresh Air with a hint of autumn.
47. Favorite Candle Scent?
Vanilla, Patchouli
48. What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
No clue. I am diabetic and I stay away from food just to be sure I don't eat the wrong things. It works too, my doctor says I am one of his best patients for lowering my sugar count.
49. Who are in the pictures you displayed?
The 29 members of our immediate family.
50. What color is your favorite bible?
Somewhat ironically, we are active Catholics, and we don't have a Bible. My Mom had one, but when she died, it became my sister's as my mother wished.
51. Do you have plenty of cabinet space in your kitchen?
Not nearly enough.
52. Ever been on your roof?
NOOOO
Do you have a stereo?

I really like modern, but no, we don't have that. WE have the pretty much obligatory New England colonial style.
58. Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints?
AS long as it goes well with the rest of the room. I don't care. I have a settee....that's why we bought it....because we wanted a piece of furniture called a settee. It is quite lovely.
59. Is there a smoke detector in your home?
Two....but, um, better off leaving it at that. After the fire, the one in my mom's part of the house stopped working and it is a wired in kind, but that was about five years ago.
60. In case of fire, what are the items you would grab if you only could make one quick trip?
The boys, my husband,my small cedar wood picture of Jesus, and my camera.
61. Do you know how to turn the electricity off?
Yes
62. What temperature in your home is most comfortable to you?
I like mid 70's, everybody else likes low 60's. I have lots of various colors of sweatshirts.....which I layer under my sweaters.
