This is my baby brother, myself at around age 4 and my grandfather. So very long ago. I know it has taken me FOREVER to finally do this, but since I will be the BIG 4-0 on Sunday, I felt the time was right.

5 Random Facts
1. I was born, raised & lived in southern NJ until 10 years ago when my hubby, mom & dad all moved to NE
2. I am EXTREMELY shy until I get to know you
3. After statement 2-it should surprise you to find out that in March of this year I started a non profit project to make & fill duffle bags for foster kids & go to local churches & organizations to speak about it & ask for donations! yes, me, honest! even though my hands are sweating & my heart is racing! If all goes well, we may be able to afford the 501c3 (non-profit) papers by the end of the year!!!!!
4. I love to teach people things I know how to do. I learned this at work & have been able to train people in India via phone.
5. I HATE SHOPPING! OK-before I get kicked off Kaboodle forever, let me say how. I hate going out to shop. I never seem to be able to find what I want. The only gratification I get is to be able to have the product right away. I much prefer shopping online. Especially during the holiday rush! Man, people are crazy during the holidays!
So, hopefully after reading all of this I have not caused you to go screaming into the night, or to fall asleep from sheer boredom. I am just an average person living an average life in an average town. This has been an extremely eventful year for me. The start of REVIVAL GEAR PROJECT, my husband was laid off along with most of the country, blah, blah, blah. So turning 40 has not been very appealing to me. I would much rather skip it & just celebrate next year. Besides, imagine how much more surprised I will be if you save all the black balloons & crepe paper till then (hint, hint, wink, wink). Well, either way, this past 40 years has been full. I've learned a lot. Forgotten a lot. Lived a lot. Gained a lot (mostly weight-LOL). and lost a lot (like my baby brother). But through it all I have had great friends, family, & faith in God. I hope you all have a blessed summer and remember to live in the moment because you can never get that moment back. For better or worse, this is my life & I am thankful to have had 40 long years.

I'm 39 this year so I'm right behind you :) I enjoyed reading your profile. Enjoy your family and your birthday!
Well, I am 58 this year, but life is like that...I mean you get older. The truth is I think I, personally...but this probably applies to many others, could live to be 500 and I would still have a to do list. Like shoshana I have deep faith and I look at this life as a sort of school where you learn everyday and become a better person for your mistakes and then, someday, you move on...like graduating. I never notice my age except for things like this...because, honestly, I DO live minute to minute, day to day, so I am thankful for my whole life...but I love each age for a different reason. My friends ages scan every decade within a century...and I love it. So enjoy your birthday shoshana and enjoy each future birthday until it's your turn for graduation. (((hugs))) Pat
nice post.
