I love hats! I also happen to love plaid. So when my mother in law brought me home this this 100% virgin wool find from Goodwill, I was excited. Now if you had spoken with me two years ago about shopping deals at good will, I would have been quite hesitant. Unless of course we were going to shop for things to cut up for sewing and fun projects. However, today I have a whole new outlook. You would not believe some of the finds I come across in my local Goodwill stores. The other day I purchased a Northface fleece for only $0.50. It may not have been the ideal color and the wear and tear showed a bit, but you certainly cannot beat the price. 

Part of the thrill of shopping is the rush you feel when you find that special something and even more so when it's on sale. Because the probability at Goodwill is so much lower, when you do find that something the thrill increases by ten fold. The approach is slightly different however. Yes you are spending much much less of what you find but you cannot walk into a store with any expectations. If you need something that day, go to the mall to shop deals. If you don't have anything in mind, but are open to a masked adventure then hit a Goodwill.  

                         
With that said I will now focus on the rest of my outfit. Here I am wearing my favorite red plaid Goodwill hat, my turquoise Gap teeshirt that cost me all of $6.00, my plain bright red Ann Taylor Loft cardigan, and my best fit JCrew jeans. I was so surprised to enter my closet and come out with this combination. It was fun to create a new look from things already owned. Not to mention things others have already owned. I never would have guessed that I would match bright red with turquoise, but here I am and it works pretty well if I do say so myself.
