It was a chilly Northern California morning two years ago, and as usual, I was running late for class. I kicked off my comfy sheepskin house slippers, but there would be no time for socks today. I eyed my well-worn pair of sandals by the door, and with my eyes on my watch, my hand on the doorknob, and my bare, rapidly-cooling feet slipping into my flip flops, a light bulb went off: "I wonder if anyone's ever tried combining a flip flop with a sheepskin slipper?" Well I hunted around, and nobody had. So I set out to try. A few months and a patent application later, I had solved my little problem. And as it turns out, I wasn't the only person out there who wanted to wear their flip flops all year round. See less

This ring is truly a miniature piece of sculpture for your hand! The glass cabochon was made by my friend Nikki Thomas, who created some custom pieces for me to fit in to my "outer space/cosmos" theme. I love the depth and the sparkle and deep red color of this piece. The metal is sterling silver and Argentium sterling silver. The "ribbons" of metal were created by fusing both together and then hammering and forming them in to organic swirls. I love the contrast of the silver with a patina and deep red. The widest part of the ring is a 3.3cm, little over an inch. The size is 8.5. Truly a one of a kind piece! I've been doing quite a bit of research on planets and stars and galaxies and just outer space in general. There are some of the most beautiful photographs of things we will never see up close and personal. So I've been inspired to make a line of jewelry based on my own imagination and these photographs.
