(11/25/08) This is CUSTOM ORDER for a fun hand felted bacon scarf. I will not be making any more of these until the weekend of November 22nd, so the earliest ship date will be November 24th. The loose red, pink, and white merino wool has been welt felted with warm, soapy water and agitated to hold its shape. Nothing is sewn, knitted, or crocheted. It measures between 6-8" wide and 44-48" long. This is an approximation since this scarf--much like real bacon--is not a true rectangular shape. It looks like a real slice of bacon, with the striations of fat and meat. It's kind of gross and awesome at the same time. Do a search on “bacon scarf” and look at the other bacon scarves out there. They use a paltry two colors, and they don’t look as realistic as this! Also, those scarves didn’t take 3 hours to make by hand! The pictures don't do it justice. Everybody could sit down together to watch a movie, and then when it was bedtime, they could rearrange the sections to make a sleeping fort for the grandkids. I mean, it wasn't particularly comfortable, but I've got some great memories tied to it. Even so, I still think the Fatboy is way better than a sectional. The main thing is, it's even more versatile. You can prop it up on itself and sit in it just like a chair, but you can also recline in it, roll it up and lie against it, perch on it horseback-style--and since it's 55 inches by 70, you can really sleep on the thing. And as for grandkids, it's got it all over velour: the Fatboy's coated-nylon fabric exterior wipes clean with a damp cloth. Colors may differ from monitor view.
