Free

This person is Kaboodle A-List!

well, free is always good! =] openoffice is a tool, like ms office, but does it work well enough for you? if so, just go with it. you can always "upgrade" later. =]

OpenOffice does basically all the same thigns... it does take some getting used to, though. It's important to save things in the right format, or else you won't be able to open documents on someone else's computer (someone using Microsoft)

I dont know i havent tried any of these on my laptop but which ever you think is good then go for it

if you're just making documents for yourself, open office is great...but if other people need to access them (mainly on Word/Excel) then you'll have problems. If you'll need to do work documents on your home computer, for example...

this one if you want to save money but i have microsoft windows 7

I have it and LOVE it!

because free

Go FREE!!! Then if it doesn't do what you want - then pay the $400.
