My name is Alissa. I am the founder of Calypso Local Art, A Portland based Artist Co-Operative. We are still getting off the ground, and as every business owner knows, you can hit a few snags along the way. So we are currently without a location but are looking forward to finding our on-line niche. You can find us at craft fairs, art galleries, farmers markets and all over Etsy while we work on launching our own website/online store.

I enjoy seeing art all around in me in the everyday things; So I have profound admiration for the different ways that everybody creates beauty. I want to help encourage everybody to be crafty and creative! So I started Calypso to bring together a community of waiters/waitresses, housewives, teachers, musicians, doctors, garbage men, teenagers, and just about anyone with a creative streak. I strive to give these blossoming artists an outlet to share their art with the world, to network and brainstorm with like-minded people and hopefully earn enough pocket cash to support their craft store habit :-)
I am very excited to be here, I have played around with Kaboodle in the last year through my work with Topanien Gifts www.Topanien.com but am looking forward to exploring on my own! As you can imagine, I love jewelry! But I am also a fanatic about Socks, Books, Retro Decor, Travel and just about anything to do with India.
