It is very tough, solid and durable. I have then lined it in polyester felt to help stop any slipping. Then, every last one of the rhinestones has been applied by hand one by one. This fascinator has a plastic comb attached the the back to secure in your hair. Each hat is made individually so there may be some minor differences with each one. But the effect will always be the same! This kanzashi is inspired by the traditional maiko kanzashi, and as such, it is fixed to an imported prong with imported bira-bira (metal flutters). I folded and hand-dyed this silk to fold each petals individually. The silk has a satin finish. This kanzashi can be worn with formal wear, western or eastern, or casual clothes. Whatever you wear it with, this piece is sure to attract attention! There are eight flowers in the top bunch, and adorned each flower lies a potato pearl. The flower bunch measures about 3in (7.5cm) in width, and 3 in (7.5cm) tall. For the top bunch, each sakura is 1.25in (3cm) in diameter. However some of those are a bit too long for modern everyday use, so I haven't attempted to make anything that long. The beads on this hair stick are acrylic. Perfect for a young girl's first hair stick. The stick is wood. Findings are silvertone, but the 'pendant' the beads dangle from is a sort of brass with an antiqued patina. A stickpin has been used for strength and stability. Mannequin head is not for sale. (However if you have a mannequin head for sale with a good bun size, I just might buy it. This one has APL hair that is difficult to bun properly.) I will combine shipping if you purchase two or more items.
