I have accented them with sterling headpins with a triple granular bead detail, and topped them with tiny sterling beads. They are wrapped to twisted circles of sterling silver, suspended from tiny faceted aquamarine rondelles of the palest icy white with a blue tint. The celluloid "donuts" are genuine antiques from France. I was beyond excited when I finally found them. Originally made as sequins, these are beautiful and truly a rare find! Made in France around the 1900's and in pristine condition. They measure 6mm in width and are so light that the wearer must be careful when handling them. They are so light they can blow away. Celluloid was the first thermoplastic. First made in the 1860’s. Today it is used in ping pong balls and guitar picks.
