The most erotic movie I have ever seen. And yes, it's about a group of nuns in the Himalayas. The Technicolor cinematography has rarely been equaled, and never excelled.

This is a remake of Lubitsch's "The Marriage Circle" (1924). George Cukor is listed as co-director. Not presently available on DVD, for now, but the old LaserDisc edition, in a Lubitsch box set, is worth tracking down.

Coming out in February 2008 from Criterion in an Eclipse DVD set with three other Lubitsch musicals. Get this NOW!

Produced in 70mm, although not at full 2.20:1 aspect ratio. For some reason, Tati used an undercut camera aperture at about 1.75:1. Best seen in the wide film format because of the dense, and delightful, details only apparent that way.
