My only complaint is that when you cut the cake into pieces, it becomes very hard to frost because of all of the crumbs. I would welcome any solutions to this problem. Using the marker cap is genious! I can't wait for the party tomorrow to see my little dragon lovers' face. ELAINE M A 4-year-old asked me for a crocodile cake. I found THIS cake and followed the directions exactly, but when assembling, the head and neck were the only things I changed. Instead of having a neck and head, I simply put the two pieces together for a nice, wide face. It really looked like a crocodile! The body was a darker green, followed by a spray of brown and then a little green Wilton Color Mist Food Color Spray. It filled in the little "scales" nicely! Sliced almonds made great teeth. Only suggestion: Cut pieces, FREEZE, THEN frost with a crumb coat. Moist cakes are difficult to spread frosting on. :)... See less

This is a great idea but do not use a plastic tablecloth. They are cheap, nice, and convenient but they will tear off at the shoulders in the 15 minutes after they are made. I tried to make them stronger with tape but really, it would be much better... See more

To make the castle, the kids arranged boxes and paper towel tubes in a castle shape and taped them together with duct tape. (Candy and frosting are heavy, so they made sure their structure was well-secured.) Next, they spread Royal Icing on the castle and attached candies and cookies, as if they were decorating a gingerbread house. They made a sugar-wafer drawbridge with shoestring-licorice "ropes," ice-cream-cone spires and fruit-slice windows. See less
