This cone is made of white stoneware clay fired to cone 6. It would sit nicely on a mantel or shelf. It could possibly be a book end, paper weight or a door stop for a light weight door. But mostly it just sits there and has a lot of nice leaf prints on it. It's washable with dish soap, water and a brush. This cone comes to a point on one side and flat on the bottom. This cone measures 4 and 1/2 inches tall and the base is 3 inches across. It measures 10 and 7/8 inches around. The outside is imprinted with real leaves. It was painted and rubbed with an iron oxide to intensify the veins and outlines of the leaves. There is no glaze on the cone. The leaves used were dogwood, violet, oregano, sensitive fern, peony, japanese maple, cinquefoil, blackberry, red maple, virgin's bower, honeysuckle, tulip poplar, eastern redbud, geranium carolina, and white oak.
