i have such a similar story! clinique was my first foray into the world of department store breauty (oh how much we have in common!) and i can't wait to get my paws on this gift. how fab!

When I was 14, one of my best friends got her makeup from Clinique, and so when I ventured out into department store makeup on my own that is where I went. Before that, it was Cover Girl Clean foundation and powder. I also used the Cover Girl foundation compacts for awhile until I realized how cakey and unnatural it made my skin look.
Dang! Lol if I used clinique, I'd be all over this :)
I'd had crappy glitter gel and hello kitty lipstick, but my first legit mak-up purchase was a Victoria's Secret eyeshadow mosiac when I was like 12...followed by a bunch of MAC eyeshadow. The funny thing is I hardly used any of this make up until I was 14 :P
My VERY first beauty purchase was a Cover Girl powder compact. All the girls had them in Jr High because they were all going for that pale, Grunge look in the 90's...lol
Then I got Revlon lipstick in a reaaaallly dark color....I wanted it because Cindy Crawford wore it....
My face looked so cakey and my lipstick was too dark for school but I felt SO cool!

My first purchase was from mary kay.
I always admired my older cousin's skin. I went with her to the clinique counter and purchased "Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion". It was my first clinique purchase--back in 1988--and it's still recognizable to this day at the counter in its yellow bottle.
@Jinnyjinn-just got my order in the mail--the Turnaround Instant Facial is awesome--it makes my skin feel like I've had a day at the spa.

My first Clinique experince was for my prom, when I got the makeup put on me. It was the most fun that I ever had.
