However, unlike plants, humans can search for water till his last breath and move around to find himself a drop to save his life. At least, he can ask or beg his fellowmen for water. Plants, on the other hand, die a muted eath from thirst. Plants are our saviors. And it’s only the moral duty of man to help them live, for their sake as well as ours. Designer Samgmin Bae not only realized this, but came up with something that might give many a thirsty plant a new life. The Roly-Poly Pot works on the concept that plants fall over when they begin to die of thirst. The mechanism is, at the same time, simple and innovative. With the built-in water monitor and a balancing system, this pot could detect the humidity level of the soil based on the pre-setting, just as if it is begging for water. When the jar is placed in sunlight the solar cell creates an electrical current that charges the battery over a few hours. This energy is then used at night to power the three LED lamps inside the jar. The light is diffused by the frosted jar and give the appearance of sunlight emitting from the (warm coloured LED lights are used to give a more natural and warm light). It needs no external power source, which allows users to generate power for it by winding its built-in key. The lamp is equipped with a timer, which indicates how much power it has remaining, so you’ll know when the next time is to wind it up again for some power. I think this lamp should come in handy for places that have no electricity or used as a emergency light during power cut.
