(07/03/08) Tip: Filter Sets are three different filters and they are: UV Filter, Circular Polarizer Filter and a Neutral Density Filter. UV Filters absorb ultraviolet rays and gives cleaner, sharper pictures with less haze. It is recommended to leave a UV filter on your camera lens at all times to protect the lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage. Though they can be replaced with other filters. Polarizing Filters are essential for outdoor photography; deepens intensity of blue skies , and reduces or eliminates glare. Neutral Density filters are used anytime you feel you are getting yellow or off white coloring while shooting indoors, mainly under flourescent lighting. Rather than getting this blemishing, it counteracts the effects of florescent light bulbs.See less

(07/03/08) Tip: Why do I need a larger memory card? Typically the manufacturer only supplies a starter card which doesn't offer comfortable capacity for a trip, special occasion etc. Don't get caught short. Special moments happen only once and you don't want to be stuck with no memory left! Usually it's good to go with a 1GB or a 2 GB card. High resolution photos take up plenty of space and before you know on a smaller memory card, you will run out of it.See less

(07/03/08) The Polaris Dual 5 Flash Meter is an enhanced version of the Polaris 2 Flash Meter. The Polaris Dual 5 features both 5 degree spot metering capability and rotating receptor head - as well as an on command backlight LCD display. It is an essential feature when taking readings in a dimly lit situation or when using flash in a studio. By depressing the backlight button located conveniently adjacent to the trigger button, the electro-luminescence light is activated and will stay on as long as the button is depressed. This gives you complete control of the backlight feature regardless of the mode being used, whether it is flash, ambient or combined. The new Polaris Dual 5 combines all the other features and specifications of the original Polaris and Polaris 2 Meters.See less

(07/03/08) Tip: Have you ever returned from a trip thinking you had taken some great shots? But, upon review of your prints you were disappointed to discover that some of them, especially those shot indoors or at night or in other dark places, came out blurry, looking like someone was shaking the camera when you took the picture? That is a very common problem called Camera Shake and every year it destroys millions of photos that could have been wonderful. Camera Shake is caused when there isnt enough light for the camera to set a fast shutter speed. Your cameras shutter opens and has to stay open for up to several seconds for enough light to hit the film to make an image. The problem: most people cannot hold a camera perfectly still for more than a small fraction of a second. The blurry image you see is caused by the camera moving while the shutter is open, and it happens to everyone. To avoid Camera Shake and get a clear sharp picture in low light, the camera must be attached to...See less
