Tobacco Leaf, one of the most prized of Chinese Export patterns, was developed circa 1780, probably for the Portuguese and Brazilian markets - though examples have also been found in other European countries and in North America. The design shows the leaves of the flowering Nicotiana (Tobacco) plant upon which a small phoenix perches bearing a flowering twig in its beak. This exact reproduction requires twenty-eight colors including 22K gold and five firings to manufacture. The joyous exuberance of the Tobacco Leaf pattern is undiminished by time. Tobacco Leaf is an authorized reproduction for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. See less

Centuries of tradition surround the creation of our Luneville faience. Here we offer a rotund and jolly hot beverage pot decorated with a mountain farmer and his faithful dog taking the cows out to graze. A dove surveys from his perch atop a fir tree. On the back side of the pot a peaceful cow has a heart to look after her. The lid is encircled by a lacy border, and the top knob is embellished with a little heart. The 6 ounce cups have a cow on the outside with the heart nestled on the inside of the bowl. The saucers also have a painted lace border. Created in a rich barn red on a cream ground, this set is perfect for any hot beverage. Dishwasher and microwave safe. See less

The allure of joyful blue birds on a leafy bough laden with fruit is, like a satisfying meal, both nurturing and comforting. The egg-filled nest, symbolic of home and family, is a welcoming center motif on the smaller plate. Our Nesting plates are hand-decorated in varying shades of blue on the finest imported white Limoges porcelain. A blue peigne border, crisply accents the scalloped edge. First created in 1767, Limoges porcelain is prized for its brilliant whiteness and lovely translucence. Goethe wrote, "we love blue because it draws us after it". Indeed.
