My Kaboodle

In this week's Coolhunter Q&A, we chat with long-time Kaboodler laratherese! Lara joined Kaboodle in July 2007, is a third-year K-Lister, and it the creator of the beauty blog The Glossarie! This beauty addict lives and works in Washington, DC and her blog was recently nominated as Best Beauty Voice in the Lucky FABB awards! Read on to find out more about her!


K:  How did you find Kaboodle?
Laratherese: I was searching for a cult beauty product (Lancome Baume Baiser) online that was sold out everywhere and up popped Kaboodle. I was able to bag the balm and find a new shopping obsession, all in one fell swoop!

K:  What is your newest obsession?
Laratherese: This chain ring by Michael Kors is making me so happy right now! It's chunky and dramatic, but polished at the same time.



K:  Out of all the badges you've bagged, which one is your favorite and why?
Laratherese: I'm most proud of my Old School badge. I can't believe I've been a Kaboodle addict for over three years now!

K:  What is your #1 guilty pleasure?
Laratherese: Definitely Toddlers & Tiaras on TLC, but it's slowly being overcome by Dance Moms on Lifetime—that show is unreal!

K:  What brand can't you live without?
Laratherese: Apple. I am beyond addicted to my white iPhone. I literally have heart palpitations if I can't find it within two seconds of digging around my purse.



K:  Tell us about one product or brand that changed your life.
Laratherese: This is cheating, but drugstore skincare has saved me. I have problem skin and as a beauty blogger I'm testing tons of products wreaking even more havoc on an already terrible situation. Simplifying what I put on my face has really solved things for me and there are three products that I go back to again, and again: Purpose Lotion, Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, and St. Ives Apricot Scrub.






K:  What inspires your personal style?
Laratherese: The blogs! Style Bloggers are so awe inspiring to me, especially the ones who take outfit shots daily. Kendi Everyday is my absolute favorite.

K:  Name one product you never leave the house without.
Laratherese: Any one of the five Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. These days it's Sugar Passion—I'm loving sheer red tinted lips for fall!





K:  Do you have a favorite Kaboodle list? If so, what is it?
Laratherese: Definitely my Beauty Lusts list. As a beauty blogger, it's a way for me to show my readers what I'm lusting at the moment and it's also total proof of my product dependency. I just counted 14 lip products on that list! Yikes :)

K:  What is the best beauty tip you've ever been given and where did you hear it?
Laratherese: My wedding day makeup artist taught me this one: Apply mascara to your bottom lashes first because you need to open your eyes super wide to do so and doing it first means that your freshly coated top lashes won't deposit mascara all over your brow bone. Genius!

K:  Name the last thing you purchased through Kaboodle?
Laratherese: This cheeky "all business" business card holder from Pottery Barn. It's one of my favorite things!
