On the heels of our five-year anniversary, we are thrilled to announce our redesign is finally debuting tonight! And when you’ll see it, you’ll notice it celebrates what we cherish most—you, your awesome Kaboodle discoveries and creations!

Please read on to learn the top eight things you’ll discover as you browse the new Kaboodle—don’t be intimidated by how long this post appears; it’s mostly pictures!

Also, don’t worry if you don’t see anything new right away. We’re rolling out the site to a fraction of members at a time with everyone getting to play with the brand new Kaboodle by Tuesday.

Finally, I just can’t wait to hear your feedback, so please do comment right here on this post—but if you can bare to wait, play around with the site for a bit first so you have time to really take it all in.

THE 8 COOLEST NEW THINGS ON KABOODLE

1. A Fresh Look and Feel

Your creations and finds are so pretty it became clear our old-school background wasn’t doing your work justice. So we polished up our pages with the hope of framing your stuff with the style it deserves. The result is our new look—streamlined, fresh, and accented with a new logo and a pretty purple and cream color scheme. We just love it and hope you do, too!

2. Kaboodle Home Page
We listened to your requests for a home page for signed-in users and so we’ve officially launched one—featuring YOU! (See the image above.)

Check it out regularly to see Kaboodlers rocking their unique style. Yes, this means you’ll no longer get to your activity feed by clicking the Kaboodle logo. To access your activity feed, steer your mouse to the upper right-hand corner of any page and click the “My Kaboodle” link next to your username and you’re there.

3. The Trend-o-Meter

The Trend-o-Meter is our exciting, new real-time trend tracker. It compiles and showcases the most popular fashion, beauty, and home products and brands based on Kaboodle community activity so you can easily follow and buy trends as they emerge.

4. Our Chummy New Style Friend Finder

We’ve made it super easy to connect with people who share your style. Try our nifty Style Friend Finder and see who you should get to know!

5. My Kaboodle Improvements

We’ve made your Kaboodle activity feed and message center more fresh and social. Here’s what you can now do:
•    See content with recent activity pop back up to the top.
•    Respond to comments without leaving the feed.
•    Buy, share, or add cool products with our new action pop-up (see above).
Also, all your message center requests on your My Kaboodle page are grouped together, but you can get to the individual sections from the requests area.

6. Snazzier Kaboodle List Views

Check out the new grid view—it’s got bigger photos and essential product details! It’s now the default view, but you can switch to our traditional list or slideshow view by using the links at the top of each list.

If you aren’t a fan of the new view, want to set your default to the old, and discover you can’t, don’t fret over it—we know and we’re fixing that glitch as soon as we can.

Bonus: From the traditional list view you can now edit a list’s title, price, and descriptions by hovering over the field and clicking on the pencil icon that appears.

7. A Waaaaay More Social Product Page

We’ve put some serious polish on each product page. Now they are easier to navigate, more social, and even more useful.

8. Channels with Content “Runways” and New Navigation

We not only added new channels to explore (along with hover-over navigation highlighting the best of the channel)—we gave our existing channels a dash of glam!

Our Fashion, Beauty, Home and Buzz (aka Community) channels now let our leading content walk the “runway”—literally! Check out a channel and you’ll see the hottest features slowly breezing by, beckoning you to click on them. (We’re already addicted here!)

As always, if you want to see your own content featured in the runway or anywhere on the channel, please make sure your profile is public and keep creating awesome stuff!

A FEW FINAL WORDS
Due to all of the fun new features, you will not be able to switch back and forth between the old and new version starting on Tuesday, June 7, because the old version will no longer work. The changes we are making will take some time so you will probably see the old Kaboodle look in a few places for a while, but we will continue to tweak things here until we’re all shiny and new.

You’re probably overwhelmed and excited about all of this new stuff at once (we know we are!). So, please explore, have fun, and know that with your help we will continue to improve the awesomeness that is Kaboodle.

The larger pictures are very cool. And doing more things on the same page is much more convenient. I know I will enjoy seeing which items are gaining favor with the most kaboodlers....that's something I am always looking to find out. Oh good, I'm not going crazy!! I went on Kaboodle earlier today & the new format was there lol I was getting used to "getting around the site" and then I went in again & the other site was there!! I've got the new layout rocking on my account. So far, I like most of it. Not sure I'm feeling the color scheme and and background dotty things. Doesn't seem as bold and easy to read on my itty bitty netbook - I like the color and the pattern, but for some reason it seems to be hard on my eyes. I do love the bigger images, and the bigger drop down menus when you look at areas like tools and such. I'm 50/50 on the new activity feed. I like that its bigger, and its kinda neat that you see some of the comments associated with the things on your feed, but at the same time it takes up a lot more space, so I see less overall activity all at once. it's beautiful - love it!!! I can't see the new site yet, although when I logged it tonight the log-in button was purple - I did wonder what that was about! I'm fortunately still on the old site but my friend isn't. She's on the new. Is there a reason why things appear so blinding? She was having trouble reading things last night from the way the color scheme is set up. I hope I don't run into the same problem or I'm going to be writing to you. I got the new "K" then it went back to the old "K". I'm having issues with the styleboard editor, can't publish a styleboard. Also, I am not receiving any emails & I'm set up to receive them. Just letting you know - I finally got switched over to the new design tonight, Gonna take a little getting used to, but I can already tell, I'm going to love it! questions: can't find where to "fan" a store....went to collectionsetc.com and could not find anything that says "become a fan" and when using FF Mozilla browser,everything shows only at bottom even when doing styleboards....how do I get items to show on the side so can move to styleboard on the left side of page?.......like some features,but user friendly sites have simple navigation which I don't see with this new launch....just sayin' Report Spam Posted by artisangoods at 5:23 PM on 06/07/11

I absolutely love this redesign--And BELIEVE ME I do NOT say that about every website's redesigns. This one is very fun, youthful and comes together nicely. I'm not really liking the new pastel peach & purple color scheme. What bothers me more is navigating my lists. It was easy and quick access with a scroll down menu on the old design. WOW I just discovered the new design and WOW I LOOOOOVE IT!!!!!! Thanks kaboodle for revamping the site, the old was was great and this one is even greater! A perfect 5th anniversary present :)I'm still getting used to it but wow i'm such a nerd because i feel like i'm in my own little hip world lol! I've been on this site for years and this is amazing.
