Kaboodle's Girls Get in on the Old Spice Fun!
The past few days, the Internet has been taken by storm by the Old Spice guy. It feels like he's everywhere, and here at Kaboodle, we just can't get enough of him.
What's the frenzy all about, you ask?
On Tuesday, Weiden + Kennedy, Old Spice's advertising company launched a social media campaign that incorporated social sites like Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, Yahoo! Answers, among others, and began posting video responses staring Isaiah Mustafa, the star of the Old Spice commercials, that were short, comical, and downright awesome.
They targeted brands, celebrities, sports teams, and everyday people like you and me. And they were hilarious. (Watch them all here, on Old Spice's YouTube channel.)
In the first day, Old Spice posted 87 videos, and today, they're cranking out even more. Marriage proposals have gone up. Isaiah Mustafa has essentially courted and wooed celebrity Alyssa Milano over Twitter and video and the internet has watched.
And we want in!
So just like everyone else (in the first day, Old Spice has garnered around 4 million views on their YouTube account and their Twitter followers went from around 3,000 to over 36,000 in a day), we're hoping that we'll get a video response from Old Spice.
Only instead of a tweet, we thought we'd post a video too.
Check out our quick video question and tweet here. And, if you're up for it, feel free to share it with the web (and, encourage @oldspice to answer!)
As always, you can always follow us on Twitter @kaboodledotcom
UPDATE: It's official. The Old Spice man has retired from making personalized videos (for now), and, unfortunately, Team Kaboodle didn't make the cut. But we may have gotten something better: a secret, hidden message in his farewell video! (Or at least that's what we're choosing to believe!)
In our video question to Old Spice, we asked, "What's your favorite way to accessorize your towel?" and in Old Spice's farewell video we may have gotten our answer: with a chainsaw, 12 gold medals, a bottle of Old Spice, a magnifying glass, three candelabras, and, of course, a silver fish.
So, while we may not have received a personal "shout out," we're convinced this is so much better. Watch the Old Spice man's farewell below.
