It all started with a statement from alexander mcqueen. the gist was this: it is all moving too fast. quickly produced, quickly used up, quickly discarded… worthless… right, lee! more than ever before, its all about creating clothing; clothing that women want, want to wear and over a longer period of time. consequently, the theme this season was not inspired by a film, or a book, a grand era of days gone by or an exotic land far far away. we rather asked ourselves, why is your favorite piece your favorite? what makes a piece the piece you never want to part with? what exactly is it that our customers expect from us? what can we do to please them? to challenge them? to excite them? first of all, we wanted to see what we could do with a single piece of fabric. nothing more comfortable, more natural than being wrapped in your favorite fabric which has been precisely nipped, tucked, draped and folded around the body with as few seams as possible. fabrics like wool fresco, metallic satin...
