This is my second miniature treasure chest. This time I wanted one themed like mermaids. It's 1.5" tall, 1.75" wide and 1.25" deep. It's a polymer clay box based around a thin cardboard base. The ball feet are painted to look like pearls. The corner joints, and side handles are shaped like shells and painted with Gold Leaf. The front lock is shaped like an octopus, and also painted with Gold Leaf. The "hinges" are green seaweed. On the lid, there's a little snail, painted with Gold Leaf, and two press metal charms of a seahorse and another shell, also brushed with a bit of leaf to make sure the tone matches.
