Keeping in mind it is a very small bag, the chain makes it really heavy for its size and it's quite noisy when you set it down. But the chain is also part of what makes the bag so fun and stylish. There is an outside zipper pocket but it's under the clip lock so that pocket is really not at all functional except for flat items you don't need ready access to.
