(05/20/12) Funny thing is that I saw a sweater just like that in Hong Kong last year and wanted to get it but I was being rushed since I was supposed to meet someone by a certain time... had to leave quick! I came home sweaterless :( But It does look really good on you, layered. I have a hard time layering because the shirt underneath the sweater gets all "bunchy" do you have any tips for that? http://aneyeforfashion.blogspo...See less

(05/19/12) All right, so these past few days I have really gotten into Buffy. I love it, it’s amazing, especially starting from season two. I’ve been watching it a lot. My eyeballs are pretty tired. But how come it seems like everything exciting on TV happens in high school? Actually if I think about it, a lot of my best and worst memories are from high school.See less

(05/13/12) Hi everyone! Happy Friday! A few days ago, a reader (her name is Wendy also… thank you so much Wendy!) sent me this article – “Foster youth in California are no longer on our own at 18.” Words can not express how happy I am that at a state level foster youths are being considered. A flood of emotions came back as I read the article. What Precious Sims said is true. Even though I appreciate my foster mom very much, I felt that it was more of a business transaction than a loving and caring home that I saw in movies. The state paid her to take care of us and there were three of us in her home. She was a very sweet woman, but all of us knew that the moment we turned 18, there was another foster youth waiting to take our place. Because the way the system is set up, both foster parents and youths find it difficult to emotionally invest in the relationship. It’s hard to call our foster mother “Mom” when we knew at 18 we would never see her again. We called our foster mother and father by...See less

(05/13/12) Happy Wednesday everyone! We just got back from San Francisco and it was such a fun, productive, and memorable trip. I had the utmost pleasure of shooting with my dear friend, David, at the Legion of Honor. If you plan to visit San Francisco, this is definitely one of the places to see! The museum inside features breathtaking traveling exhibits and the architecture outside is absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for reading!See less

(05/13/12) Hi everyone! I woke up this morning coughing along with a heavy dose of headaches and fatigue. Mystery Man took me out and we had soup and bought a lot of fresh squeezed orange juice. My head is throbbing right now, so I’m actually not sure if what I just wrote made any sense. Please accept my apology if this blog entry is incoherent. Do you have any home remedies for coughs and/or body aches? I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Thank you so much for stopping by!See less

(05/12/12) 4) High-waisted denim jeans (can be found in thrift stores or vintage shops) Head to your local thrift store and look for a pair of “mommy jeans.” An easy way to find these high waisted denims is by looking for those with really long zippers. Don’t worry if the overall fit is not perfect. As long as it fits your waist and hips, it’ll work! Also, don’t forget to check the men’s section as sometimes you’ll find these pants there. I purchased the above Wranglers for $8, found in the men’s section! 1) After you found your perfect mommy jeans, cut them (diagonally) to your desired length. Start cutting with one leg, then fold the jeans over and cut the other leg. Tip: Cut them 3-4 inches longer just in case, try them on and work your way up. Also, bare in mind you’ll need to leave at least 1/2 to 1 inch longer for the fraying at the ends. 2) Now it’s time for creating that lovely distressed look. Get a sharp pair of scissors (be careful not to cut yourself!) and create slits wherever your...See less

(04/30/12) Shell/Vest, J.Crew - the definition of an affordable closet workhorse in cotton here (mine is size small), or warm cashmere here Top, J.Crew - available here, comes in maraschino cherry and other great colors to mix and match with the shell. I'm wearing the poppy color (size 2) which is marked down, and still available in some sizes in the sale section. Pants, Gap- similar here Necklace, Lulu Frost for J.Crew - mine is sold out but try this or this necklace instead Shoes, Talbots - similar here and here I'm wearing red again. And I'm also wearing the same pants and accessorizing with the same necklace that I wore in my last outfit post here. When inspiration strikes, I've decided to create several outfits and take pictures of them all at once instead of trying to remember how I wanted to wear something, or having to come up with something to wear on days when I can barely figure out how to match a pair of socks. So anyway, the top of my outfit is different, which makes it look like a...See less

(04/30/12) Maybe I'm not looking in the right places, but one of the reasons I tend to wear heels more than flats is because I find that flats typically look less interesting than their heeled counterparts. Enter the WHISKERLO: with all the comfort of a flat and the detailed intricacies of a heel, these beauties are definitely shoes that I will be stomping around in all summer long. Thank you Stuart Weitzman for the lovely footwear. Happy Monday!See less

(04/30/12) I have to be honest and admit that ever since I wore it here, this floral skirt had been collecting dust in the back of my closet. It's really a shame, since the print on it is so gorgeous, but it just seemed a little too dressy for day to day, non-office attire. Enter a chambray shirt: one of my favourite pieces as of late, this wonderful garment seems to have the ability to make anything look more casual without sacrificing a put-together element. Tucked into the skirt, it definitely helped give my problematic skirt a fresh new appeal.See less

(03/22/12) Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! To welcome Spring, I’m decorating my outfit with crisp white and silver tone accessories. And as you can tell, I can’t get enough of the sock bun. After many attempts and a work out for my biceps, I’m trying my best to master it. I learned this technique from this incredibly helpful tutorial. Traditionally, I find that women couple the sock bun with sleek flat hair on top. Unfortunately, I look a little strange with hairstyles that are too flat. To add more volume, I gently pulled sections of hair on top before securing it with a hair tie. Mystery Man and I spent the last few days working on our latest video. After it was published, we went on a date. Since it’s 80º degrees in LA, I couldn’t wear the rose jacket that I had on in the “Pastels” section of the video. A quick change to a willowy silk blouse, I got dressed and headed out to dinner with my best friend =) I hope you like the video! Thank you so much for dropping by!See less

(02/27/12) Well another Friday is here and my coworkers and I decided to try out another style challenge. (Peek our boot challenge last week here!) Up this week? With Christmas right around the corner, we figured we would take the proverbial Christmas sweater out for a spin. While holiday sweaters often get a bad reputation for being, well, for lack of a better word, ugly, I think I know a few other girls who would prove otherwise. Check out Meghan and Rebecca to see how they styled theirs!See less
