These problems became increasingly problematic after Microsoft came out with their April 11, 2006 security update for Internet Explorer, which included an ActiveX fix. * The first problem arises from the Visual Text Box Editor, also know as the WYSIWYG editor, in essay and short answer assessments when viewed in Internet Explorer. There have been documented instances where the page hangs up when loading and will not fully display when the Visual Text Box Editor/WYSIWYG editor is enabled. The page becomes frozen and the user cannot scroll the page, click save or submit, or complete the assessment. * The second problem (an annoyance, really) is a direct result of the April 11 update to Internet Explorer.
