It was originally designed by Crown Lewis in the 1960's and was carried in the Charles F Berg store in Portland, Oregon. Crown Lewis has designed numerous beautiful and well-constructed purses over the years and this purse is no exception. In Berg's era, it was customary for retailers to sew their own labels into the inventory regardless of who made it. That means clothing bearing the Charles F. Berg label can be found in vintage and thrift stores all over. Made in the 1960’s, this handbag has been gently used. The inner compartment is clean and perfect, like new. The exterior is in pretty good shape as well. The gold hardware shows minor wear but nothing drastic, just not as shiny as it was in the 60's. The Crown Lewis tag on the inner hinge looks shows minimal wear also. The Charles F Berg tag is a clothe tag that looks like it was glued in and is a little frayed on the ends.
