I managed to take in trade this extremely rare instrument of study used primarily in the observation of moss-like varieties contained in an controlled environment. Actually, I happen to love almost anything to do with SteamPunk art. This is my version of this art movement brought to my bulb terrariums. In reality, terrariums where invented during the Victorian era by Dr. Nathaniel Ward, called Wardian cases. In fact, botany was one of the most popular of the nineteenth century sciences. This is the largest of our "steamed" light bulb terrariums with a bulb measuring 3 3/4" x 7 3/4". The center piece of the choker is accented with a one and half inch metal plate which acts as a base to the watch movement pendant. Hanging from the pendant are two chains which loop back to the necklace and are secured by silver jump rings. The watch movement measures approximately 1 inch. It is 17 jeweled and has gold and silver gearing details. The movement is complete. I took pictures using a glass neck so that you will be able to see the necklace from all angles. The choker has a three snap closure to allow for multiple neck sizes. From end to end, it measures 15 1/2 inches and is about 3/4 of an inch wide. The first snap closure allows for a 14 inch neck, the second a 14 1/2 inch neck and the last snap a 15 inch neck. Please note that these are approximate measurements so if it doesn't fit you when you receive it send it back and I will provide a full refund. The necklace will be shipped in a gift box.See less

(08/13/09) This cyberpunk vacuum tube is part of my Industrial Evolution series. This tube has a very unusual series of holes that go all the way around the cage assembly. I love it because it makes me wonder what lurks inside. The holes are all regular in size, and I built a hardware chain to reflect the pattern... matching it with some washers that are almost black steel. I love the bit of reddish-copper that comes through the top as well. One of the things that is rather unique is the "getter" - the round part near the tip. In this vacuum tube it is a solid metal, where most of the ones I have obtained are not. This is a great piece for a man although it can be worn by anyone. This vacuum tube is made of glass - so please avoid smashing it. Obviously, they are sturdy though to withstand the heat and electricity when they were used.
