After 15 years of driving, I finally have a car I'm not ashamed of! Oddly though, the lighter is missing - no idea what the previous owners did with it! So, I'm thinking it would be good to plug up the empty socket with one of these spotlight torches - incredibly useful in any number of situations, and purple is after all my very favourite colour! :D

Sometimes, it really feels like the world has lost some of its innocence - books like these are a nice nostalgic trip back in time to when "making love" meant holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes...

I've got three cats, all of whom are willful little darlings! Lately I've had to resort to using a water pistol to stop their plant-chewing antics, but it makes me feel ever so guilty. But now apparently there is an alternative to water torture... OK, this remote control doesn't *actually* control cats... but there's nothing wrong with a bit of wishful thinking, is there? :)

Yesterday when I was sorting out the recycling boxes ready for this morning's collection, I had a bit of an epiphany... basically, we REALLY need a can crusher! We've had people staying for the past couple of weekends, so we've got through a lot of cans of beer. Add to that, the fact that we're feeding three cats and a dog, we are getting through mountains of cans. I spent yesterday evening standing on the driveway crushing cans underfoot... it's fun for the first five minutes, but before long I was swearing at myself for not owning a can crusher!

I love Edward Monkton's stuff, and these "pants of peace" are one of my favourites. Only problem is, they're possibly a bit too small for my Antarctica-sized bum, so I might have to just get them as an incentive to lose some weight! :)

Oh my days, these jelly beans are about the most delicious thing I've ever tasted! I actually dribble when I think about them :D Loving the retro handy dispenser so you can save up for the next packet while you're eating the current one!

Another gorgeous jelly bean necklace, but with this one you get a choice of colours. One for every outfit! What I particularly like about this one is the 18" chain... most fashion jewellery is supplied with a 16" chain which is just too tight for my larger than average neck. Cute and cool, and at £19.99 it's great value for money.

Back in the 80s there was a bit of a craze for ornaments that involved some sort of balancing. There'd be a couple of little stick men on a see-saw, among others, and of course the Newton's Cradle. I never really fancied owning stick men on a see-saw, but I've often felt compelled to buy a Newton's Cradle. I think the time is approaching when my compulsion is going to take over - now we have kittens, I can imagine hours and hours of fun teasing them with the clicky-clacky balls on this timeless toy.

When I was a little girl, I was desperate for one of these. Every time Rolf Harris came on TV playing his Stylophone, I would be enthralled as he made his magical tunes through the wondrous instrument. Now I'm a grown up and my love for Rolf hasn't diminished, though I do now know that the music made by the Stylophone isn't really magic - it's electricity. What a shame we lose our innocence as we get older...

I'm so old, I actually saw Star Wars when it first came out in the cinema. Wouldn't have been my first choice, being an 8 year old girl, but dad wanted to see it so I trotted along with him. Really glad I did, as it's been a favourite ever since. No desk is complete without a little Yoda sitting on it, trotting out supportive and inspirational phrases such as "Impossible to see the future is" - how true! So I'd like one of these, please, to get me through the working day (and provide a bit of much-needed distraction when I'm getting stressed).

I can think of so many fun ways to use this... Just imagine, you're in a crowded club and you spot the boy of your dreams across the room... type "mine" into the spacewriter, aim it at said boy's chest/forehead/other body part, and watch what happens. Or, you're at a gig and the support band is rubbish. Type "you're crap" into the Spacewriter, aim it at a band member/the drumkit/a speaker and see how many members of the audience agree with you. Heehee!

These are not so much for me, as for my daughter, who has what can only be described as a duck fetish. Her bedroom ceiling is covered with glow-in-the-dark sticky ducks. She has a growing collection of ducky paraphernalia. And - very sad, this - she says that when she leaves home, she's going to get herself a 'house duck' (i.e. a pet duck that lives in the house) and call it Sir Quacks-A-Lot. Sad but true.

I love how literal these are... sticks, that actually look like sticks! Ha! I'm quite partial to a cocktail or two, especially during these balmy summer nights, so these would definitely get plenty of use in our house. And Iike the idea that I can match the colour of the stick to the colour of the drink - how groovy is that?

I'm a massive fan of home grown herbs - I currently have a collection of over 200 young herb plants which I've grown from seed (God knows what I'm going to do with them all...). But I've never tried growing spices (there's a chilli plant in this series that I'd also like). Is lemon grass a herb or a spice? Either way, I'd really love to try growing it - it'd make a nice addition to my collection, and I'll enjoy adding it to curries too :)

Sleek design coupled with real usability. This looks as though it's much easier and more efficient to use than the standard pestle and mortar, where you can find your spices swimming around a bit while you try to chase them round to grind them. Really nice looking piece of equipment.

What a fab idea! This is so unusual, and such a sleek design. I love the contrast of the red cups against the white carafe - really sexy.

Another one from the ceramic and acacia wood collection at Musgrove & Bright. These would be great for olives - perhaps Kalamata in one bowl and Halkidiki in the other (my two favourite types of olive).

This matches the oil and vinegar set. This would be good for serving some nice home made hoummous, tzatziki and aubergine dip (I've been known to hold the occasional Greek-themed night). Maybe I should've eaten before writing about food... *dribble*

Really beautiful oil and vinegar bottle set; it's a gorgeous design, very simple. I'm partial to a few chunks of good bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar - waaaay nicer than butter, and a lot healthier! My mouth is watering while I type this :)

Such a cool idea, and helps re-use empty wine bottles (or presumably vodka, gin, whiskey and most other types of bottle).

I've had my eye on this for a few years but never seem to have enough cash to buy it. It's perfect for the space above our fireplace... one day when I'm rich...

So pretty, practical and environmentally friendly... stores sunlight by day, reflects it back by night.

For formal dining. Not that we dine formally very often, but it's better to be prepared isn't it?

Now this is brilliant. I really hate it when you're at the pub and they've got sport on the telly. People take sport far too seriously. Imagine the hilarity if you went into a pub with one of these and kept making the telly switch off? Haha! Guaranteed the men would all cry. Love it.

Two excellent reasons for one of these: first, for teasing kittens with. Second (and best): for frightening Emily and Dewi, who are both terrified of spiders. Hur hurr!
