Shipping/Handling: To Be Determined Insurance: $2.70 USD Unusual auction find. Through some research I found that silver lusterware was designed to emulate exactly that…silver; but getting the silver to permanently adhere to the pottery became a problem. After some years the finish would rub off. This has occurred on this teapot, but it continues to have a certain appeal about it. The lustre gives off a unique tarnished appearance; in it I can see several colors; blue, pink and coppery highlights make it an interesting piece. The pot measures 7 ½ inches high to the tip of the decorative finial on top of lid and 7 ½ inches wide between the spout and the outside edge of decorative handle. Pot is fluted and sits on a wavy edged base. Top opening also has raised wavy edge design. Stamped on the bottom is the Bereuther Bavaria mark with crown. Aside from the rubs where the white porcelain shows through, the teapot is in otherwise excellent, usable condition with no chips or cracks. The... See less
