There are lots of keyboard shortcuts built into Adobe Photoshop and there's no way I could list them all here, even if I wanted to. I don't even use most of them, but there are some I couldn't live without. Here's a brief rundown of some of my favorites. Space bar (Hand tool) – Temporarily selects the hand tool so you can pan around an image that won't completely fit on your screen. When you let go of the space bar you are back to the tool previously selected. Ctl-+ (Zoom in) and Ctl—(Zoom out) – Zoom your view in and out. This lets you see what you want to see but does not affect your image at all. Ctl-0 (Zoom to fit) – Zoom your image so it just fits on your screen. Unlike with previous versions of Photoshop, odd zoom percentages won't result in jaggies so this shortcut is now far more useful than it used to be. Alt-Mouse wheel (Zoom) – This is another great way to zoom in and out that lets you fine tune your view quickly. B (Brush tool) – I use a brush mainly for fine tuning masks... See less

There are different ways to create a slide show for the Web. I recommend using Google's Picasa and Picasa Web Albums. You can easily get your slide show up and going. Both Picasa programs are free. You'll find a download link for Picasa on my site. You can also learn more about Picasa Web Albums. First, you will need to download the Picasa software for your computer. It is a great way to manage your photos. It scans your computer for photos. You can then organize your photos into albums. You can also synchronize albums with Picasa Web Albums. The technique I will describe here applies to photos you have yet to take. Unfortunately, there is no single easy way to get rid of people in the shots you already have. But instead of agonizing over long clone-stamping sessions, you can take shots that will yield vacant sites with only minimal PhotoShop work. To start, you’ll want to be taking your photos with a tripod. A remote release or timer will also help (it will minimize the possibility that you may inadvertently move your camera between shots). You will also want to shoot using manual settings. As the scene changes, your camera meter may change your exposure values and that will make your PhotoShop work more difficult. At busy sites, once you have composed your shot, you will find there is no end of tourist flow through your frame. You may find yourself quickly giving up on an image because you know that as soon as one group of visitors starts leaving, another will soon take its place. You might get lucky and everyone will... For example, the chart shows that you can make a 5" x 7" photo quality print from a 3 megapixel camera. inches @ 300ppi (numbers inside colored boxes are megapixels) Notice that as the print size doubles, the megapixels required increases geometrically. You can make nice 8" x 10" prints with a 6 or 8 megapixel camera, but to make a true photo quality 16" x 20" print, you need between 24 and 30 megapixels. Don't be fooled by manufacturers' claims that say you can make 16" x 20" prints from an 8 megapixel camera. While you certainly can make a print that size, it will not be true photo quality. Sure, the pictures you take with your new camera are better than any you've gotten before, but it's time to take charge and learn what great photos you can get when you're the one in control. Do these five drills to get started, and don't worry, we'll go easy on ya. Switch to program mode, your semiautomatic weapon for exercising a bit more control. Go darker or lighter with exposure compensation Dial your camera to P for program mode, then find the +/- button or symbol. On most cameras, you can just hold it down and move the command dial to nudge the exposure up or down from the medium tone that the built-in lightmeter dictates.
