There are shower people and bath people. I am a shower person because a bath simply takes too long to fill up and when it does it's just not deep enough. Well, if you are a bath person and want deeper water too or you just really need a long relaxing soak, there's a cool new solution called the Deep Water Bath ($5). Simply place the Deep Water Bath over the bathtub's overflow drain and it allows you to add up to 60% more water. A few inches more of water would really make a difference. See less

I should mention that I am on an endless quest to keep myself organized at home, especially in my studio/office, which is quite small since I share the space with my love. Anyway, our office is the only room in the house that we have neglected to paint and I wanted to come up with a way to make it cheerfully colorful AND organized. This is what I came up with: Album Cover Wall Organizers that will take you less than 5 minutes from start to finish! That’s right: 5 MINUTES! Materials: 1. Colorful album cover sleeves (I chose kid’s albums because they had neat illustrations on the front) 2. Scissors 3. Foam mounting squares How To: Step One-Turn album cover sleeve on side so the opening is facing up towards the sky. Step Two- Using your scissors, cut a half oval shape on the front flap starting at the top (where the opening is). Do not cut the backside (back flap). I just... See less

If we had to name the best thing in our design arsenal it wouldn't be having our Pantone Book memorized, or knowing the name and year of every piece of furniture. So what's the one trick that helps us more than anything else? Click through the jump to find out! One of the best tricks we have found when designing our living space is proportion. Most of our truly great furniture finds have come from random places while we were out and about... not from when we have "left the house determined to buy a sofa." Say you are out at a flea market and you come across an amazing French Provincial couch that you think would be the best thing since sliced bread in your living room. You drag it home, wrangle it through the door frame, scoot everything out of the way... only to find out that it's really 3 inches taller than it should be, or 4 inches deeper than it needs to be, or one shade greener than it can be to work with your room. One of my recent craft projects.. I glued some patterned papers on the tea containers and made labels, using address labels (cut to size) and hand-made rubber stamps. The whole project was an excuse to get started on rubber stamping. :)

if you’re like me and live in a rental, it can be tough to deal with the less-than-ideal features of your home. without the ability to replace tile, wallpaper, or event paint it can be difficult to personalize your home the way you’d like. but today’s diy project (from designer kate pruitt) is all about working with what you have. kate wasn’t in love with her old fireplace so she decided to use jenny wilkinson’s pink ‘hammerhead sharks‘ wallpaper to cover up the dark tile. using little more than foam core, a little glue and an xacto blade, kate was able to create a custom look that won’t cut into her apartment’s deposit when she moves. kate has shared her full project instructions and materials below so click here for the full post (or just click “read more” below). thanks, kate! My mother has always been a fan of storage and organization, in her mind. In reality, our house never had anything to put other things into. I badly wanted a large armoire, but they were too expensive, and never my style. A long long time ago my parents bought these large MDF garage cabinets. They are very simple, just a box with doors and shelves. I stole one and made the armoire I needed. I've never had enough storage and hopefully this will allow for more organization. If you are a bibliophile like me, the thought of having your books being organized via the Dewey decimal system gives you goose bumps. In this month’s Metropolitan Home, I learned that noted architect , Jeffery Povero, who used to build many a library when working for Robert A.M. Stern, also knows a thing or two about making the most out of prevailing light. In order to make a room seem larger, Povero mirrored the window recesses, a way to take advantage of views and light. He also utilized opposing paint colors: Benjamin Moore’s Iron Mountain and white in the recesses to dematerialize at the edges. The resulting effect: an 860 square foot apartment that seems larger and brighter. See less

O post de hoje é a contribuição do Superziper usando o gaveteiro Aneboda (£39.90, na medida 80 x 100 cm). Achei que a parte transparente tirava o charme do móvel. Vazio, na loja, era lindo. Com roupas, em casa, ficou com cara de desleixo. No dia-a-dia, quem é que vai ficar se preocupando em empilhar as roupas perfeitamente, por ordem de cor? Achei que seria bem mais fácil e prático "tampar" a bagunça! Esse papel encontrei ao acaso, na Oliver Bonas, uma loja fofa de presentes (mesmo lugar onde comprei meu açucareiro). É papel de embrulho, vendido em rolos de 1 metro. Os desenhos são uma aplicação de flocos, que ao passar a mão dá a impressão de um veludinho. O tom de azul ainda combinou direitinho com o tapete que fica ao pé da cama.
