Submitted by JD Lasica on September 19, 2006 - 12:35pm. Ourmedia, at long last, finally has some new servers -- six spanking new Dell boxes at San Francisco State University. (The site may have appeared down yesterday, but in actuality we changed our DNS nameservers and it takes hours for that info to propagate throughout the Internet.) We hope this will be the beginning of a beautiful new relationship with the educational community, as Ourmedia focuses on both sharing knowledge, media and tools in a community environment. We also want to thank the corporate sponsors who have contributed to our server transition project and who kept us going along the way. We'll do that when we work out a couple of new wrinkles -- we're currently unable to post images in the Ourmedia group blog. We hope to have that fixed fairly soon. Meantime, you should notice a zippier site, with logging in taking 3 seconds rather than 15, pages appearing somewhat faster, and so on. Thanks to our all-volunteer tech... See less
