The Dodge Ram or simply the Ram comes from Dodge brand that is owned by Chrysler. These are basically trucks and that too extremely effective ones. Actually, the Motor Trend magazine has twice named the Dodge Ram truck the 'truck of the year'. The awards were given to the 2nd generation Ram in 1994 and the 3rd generation Ram in 2003. The Ram is manufactured at the company factory at Coahuila in Mexico and also at Missouri and Michigan in the US. The Ram vehicle that first hit the road in 1981 was actually named after the Ram hood ornament that all Dodge cars of the time had. Externally, there was almost no difference between the first generation Ram and the Dodge D-Series pickups. But over the years they came to be their own and developed their separate identity. See less
