Excellent introduction of Craig as 007. Rather than focus on the gadgetry, Casino Royale focuses on the character of James Bond - and a young Bond at that. The movie begins with his ascension to double-0 status and showcases his first mission. For once, we see a Bond that isn't all-knowing, all-achieving. He's capable and certainly not out of his league, but he's obviously new at what he does and makes mistakes. Not was the movie well written, Daniel Craig is great as Bond with just the right mix of refinement and ruthlessness. Of course, anyone who saw Layer Cake already knew the old boy would get on fine. Report Spam
