(11/25/08) Made of cedar, the outside is hand rubbed in tung oil, the inside is not finished in order that the smell the wonderful cedar come through. Many hours were put into this box. Not only in the scroll work, but in the strong finger joints that make it such a sturdy box. There are approximately 285 separate openings made for the scroll saw to cut. Each of those cutouts have been hand sanded. This is truely a piece of art. It is larger than most jewlery boxes. 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 x 4 1/4 high I lined the bottom with a high quality felt on a piece of hardwood that can be removed if desired. Signed and dated.
