The top pictures show it photographed in the traditional manner over a bustle pad; those on the bottom were taken on a contemporary mannequin without a bustle pad. This amazing coat shows that good design is always in style. The unlined coat is fashioned from crisp white linen. Pair it with a linen skirt of the period and you will have a promenade outfit that will be the pride of your collection. Or wear the coat with pants and costume jewelry and you will stand out in any crowd. The bodice is cut with figure flattering princess line seams. I love the bias-bound scalloped edges on the skirt. PLEASE MEASURE CAREFULLY ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS AT THE BOTTOM! *I'm a big fan of celebrating historical fashion by making it modernized and wearable and using blessed technological advances to make the pieces! I take bits and pieces from the tons and tons of historical fashion books I have, and this is the kind of thing I come up with. This is a double breasted lapel strapless corset. It has beautiful corving lines to accomodate actual real woman curves! It took me A LONG time to figure out how to make this thing. Finally, I decided on a bodice that laced up first like a normal corset, and then had a faux button panel that crossed over and tied (It couldn't actually button down because it would take away the adjustability of the corset for different sizes. The corsets will take a 5-7 days to complete and ship. *So, I love corsets, and I love cloaks, but I can never ever wear a cloak at a renaissance festivals because it's always hot as heck, plus it would cover up my sexy corset! Thus, I combined the two, they had a love-child, and this is it! This bodice set is two pieces, with a cropped underbust bodice with detachable hood and then an underbust corset to go with the rest of it. You can wear the pieces separately, which makes it nice! The hood is huge and billowy, so it looks like a cape when it's hanging down your back. There is a comb sewn into the inside seam of the hood, so you can comb it into your hair and make it stay in place....otherwise, it's such a heavy gathered piece that it just keeps falling.
