(12/06/08) The is a substantial piece, measuring 2.25" tall and .5" thick at it's thickest point. The cameo is most probably resin, since I see no evidence of carving marks. Its design is classic—a red background with a lovely lady's profile in ivory. The gold-tone setting has intricate cutouts and holds a frame of faux diamonds around the cameo's edge. On the back, you will see the pin hardware, as well as a little open bale at the top for hanging the cameo off a necklace, if you so desire.See less
