I tried a few different sized tampers and found the 49mm is the only one that can tamp past the small rim where the spring locks the Presso basket in place. One Hario Mini Mill manual burr grinder This was the second Hario grinder I got for my Presso. The Skerton was the first but I found the grind output to be very inconsistent and adjustments are "fiddly". The Mini Mill on the other hand is consistent and easier to adjust. The Mini Mill is also lighter and smaller.See less
