H&M Hacks into Lisbeth Salander's Gritty Wardrobe

Swedish retail giant and Kaboodler-favorite H&M announced yesterday that costume designer Trish Summerville is bringing Lisbeth Salander's "dark urban" look to life! A 30-piece collection inspired by Rooney Mara's portrayal of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is scheduled to arrive online and in stores on December 14. Leather jackets and trousers, torn jeans, and slouchy hoodies will all be featured in the anticipated collaboration.

Summerville says, "Salander’s look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armour to shield her from the world. I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I’m pleased with the result!" Judging from the image above, showcasing Summerville in front of five Lisbeth-look-a-like models, we're pretty psyched as well! Give us an all-black ensemble made from tough yet comfortable materials and we're pleased as punch!

Will you be lining up for Lisbeth Salander-inspired duds?

  • I want to read the books, those models are thinner than thin (or something like that). Report Spam Posted by markblemish at 1:32 PM on 10/27/11

  • Always liked this style and I already got myself a cool faux leather jacket but from F21 but I do love H&M their line should be a hit Report Spam Posted by xjoliexgreenx at 2:12 PM on 10/27/11

  • I also have not read the books or seen the movie. I do like some of the collection, like the jackets & hoodies. But not sure I'm into the style of pants. Report Spam Posted by cimino68 at 3:25 PM on 10/27/11

  • I've only read the first book, and while it was a good read, it wasn't something I could get into. I've been debating whether or not I want to get the second two to finish out the series. Loving the clothes for this line, although it is a little funny that such a popular chain is doing a line based off a character's style which happens to be VERY unpopular/non-trendy. Gotta love irony like that haha Report Spam Posted by harlot at 9:27 PM on 10/28/11

  • I've read all three of the books.... and Lisbeth's style is a bit different from what they have above, but no doubt she would wear the leather! Report Spam Posted by jessiej287 at 6:24 AM on 10/29/11

  • ~I have a few chapters left on the second book -- so good! I've also seen the first movie, but have to say it doesn't have the same effect as the book. But this is exactly what I imagine Lisbeth wearing! I want one of those jackets! Report Spam Posted by rachellellizabeth at 5:22 AM on 10/30/11
