(11/19/07) So you've replaced all your old incandescent lightbulbs with CFLS. Now you're saving money, saving energy, but there is still the stack of old incandescent lightbulbs waiting to be disposed of. Throwing them away wouldn't be eco-friendly. Right? How about creacycling them instead? What is creacycling? Creacyling is the new word for creative recycling. Bulbs Unlimited have come up with wonderful innovative way to help you do this with old lightbulbs. It takes about six steps, a Bulbs Unlimited kit and some imagination. Pick between the Rookie Kit, Pro Kit or Addicted Kit. The kits come with an Inkubator, E27 lamp holder, hanging kit, high-end cable, special glue, and a bunch of snap-buttons to snap the bulbs together. What kind of things can you make with a kit like this? A lot of things. You can make table decorations, lamps, hanging lamps, etc. The creation is yours to design, but if you need a visual inspiration take a look at the images at the Bulbs Unlimited photo gallery. So what...See less

(11/13/07) Deep space? Or too much LSD? I consider myself to be a bit of a detail-oriented person, but I ain't got nothing on Jen Stark. People who talk down their artistic talents tend to say things like, "I can't even draw a straight line." Oh, pshaw. You don't even know the half, grasshopper. Imagine not only drawing thousands upon thousands of lines -- straight and curved and everything in between -- but also cutting them with an X-acto knife in patterns whose hypnotic effects are inversely proportionate to their size. Certainly not the job for just anyone, that's for sure.See less

(11/10/07) With a sincere desire to understand the people around them Sameunderneath uses the pop culture medium to bring its message of sustainability and understanding to the next generation. Why Bamboo? Bamboo fabric is a natural textile made from the pulp of the bamboo grass. Bamboo fabric has been growing in popularity because it has many unique properties and is more sustainable than most textile fibers. Bamboo fabric is light and strong, has excellent wicking properties, and is to some extent antibacterial. Bamboo fiber resembles cotton in its unspun form, a puffball of light, airy fibers. Bamboo fabric is very soft and can be worn directly next to the skin. Many people who experience allergic reactions to other natural fibers, such as wool or hemp, do not complain of this issue with bamboo. The fiber is naturally smooth and round without chemical treatment, meaning that there are no sharp spurs to irritate the skin.See less

(11/08/07) The 'My Chopsticks Bra' is the latest outrageous creation from Triumph International Japan, a lingerie company that's never been shy about attracting attention to its products - for a good cause, of course! This time around, the cause is conservation in the form of reusable chopsticks. It's a real problem: as I mentioned in another of my articles ("Billions of Discarded Chopsticks to be Turned into Biofuel"), an estimated 90,000 tons of wood are wasted each year when disposable chopsticks are discarded. What's this got to do with feminine lingerie, you may be asking? Nothing really, so Triumph's team designed the 'My Chopsticks Bra' with a Japanese foods theme to make an association where there was none before! As you can see, the bra is formed from half-bowls of rice and miso soup, staple Japanese meal items. Tucked into one of the straps is a pair of collapsible, portable chopsticks. The idea is to popularize the idea of bringing your own personal pair of "hashi" when you go out to...See less

(11/08/07) Ah, the seduction of a kiss. So sexy, so timeless. Thanks to dna11's newest project, cocktail napkins and envelopes aren't the only ones lucky enough to receive that puckered stamp of approval -- now, you can have your own sexy pout immortalized on canvas. Along with our fingerprints and our DNA, our personal "lip print" is amongst those defining characteristics that differentiate us from one another. The guys down at dna11 are now making those personal distinctions available on a large scale -- so large, in fact, that you can slap a frame around your "Kiss Print" and adorn your bare walls with it. How hot is that? Made famous for its ultra-cool DNA and fingerprint giclee artork, dna11 has teamed up with M.A.C. cosmetics to offer a customized print of your own pout, or that of someone special. According to co-founder Adrian Salamunovic, this was a natural outgrowth of their existing personalized line of art pieces, but with added appeal to a new audience -- "the modern woman's ultimate...See less

(11/08/07) Do people really care about the appearance of their workout equipment? Think about it. What do you usually do with your bulky workout equipment once you have finished using it? You put it up, right? It doesn't exactly match with your home décor, so you put it under your bed, in your closet, in a corner, in the garage. Once it's out of sight it's also out of mind. In an attempt to solve these issues designer Alex Undall has turned an ordinary dumbbell into a house decoration that has multiple uses. The Crystal Dumbbell is a colorful hand weight made of glass that can pump up your arms and then decorate a nice shelf in any room. It even comes in different colors. "The aim is to have the Dumbbell produced by a high end glass producer that would raise its status to the same level as other high end home interior decorations, thus adding value and giving the customer more then one reason to by a fitness product." So what do you think? Is it this an innovative concept or just a good waste of...See less
