Growing 14 to 24 inches tall, it bears 4 inch flowers that have a fuchsia-pink slipper or pouch and white petals or sepals. The leaves are covered with stiff hairs that give the plant a silvery-green sheen. They prefer a location with 2 to 3 hours of moring or late agternoon sun each day and moist soil with a neutral pH. Rarely offered, new propagation methods have made these plants more available although the supply is still very limited. They should bloom within one to two years.
