I bought this HK dock/speakers at Target for almost ONE HALF of what amazon is offering here at. I agree, the higher the volume the more distorted the sound becomes. But considering that is true for all speakers, it can be overlooked. The option to use this device as a docking station or just a speaker set is really great. Initially, I bought this as a way for me to listen to my ipod at work. But I have since brought it home and it occupies a place on my night stand. For the sheer amount of output from the speakers, it's not a bad little system at all. If you're expecting high-tech sound from this, you are going to be disappointed.
