This fund family will begin with 30 different funds, one for each of the stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. For simplicity, the funds will be named “my” followed by the ticker of the underlying stock. When asked why an investor would buy a single-stock fund rather than just buy the stock outright, the sponsor stated, “People have become comfortable with the ETF product and like the diversification it gives them.” When asked what inspired them to create such a product, the sponsor replied that such funds provide a continuous stream of fees versus the one-time-only commission from a stock sale.
