If your daughter rejects Jesus, don’t pretend everything is fine. For every unbelieving child, the details will be different. Each one will require parents to reach out in unique ways. Never acceptable, however, is not reaching out at all. If your child is an unbeliever, don’t ignore it. Holidays might be easier, but eternity won’t be. If your son is not a Christian, he’s not going to act like one. You know that he has forsaken the faith, so don’t expect him to live by the standards you raised him with. For example, you might be tempted to say, “I know you’re struggling with believing in Jesus, but can’t you at least admit that getting wasted every day is sin?” If he’s struggling to believe in Jesus, then there is very little significance in admitting that drunkenness is wrong. Brothers, Embrace the Providence of God! by Mike Evans For our purposes the word Providence can be defined today as God’s unceasing involvement in the everyday stuff of life whereby He causes His sovereignty to be worked out according to the counsel of His will, for the praise of His glory, and for the good of His people. This may sound like a mouthful but I assure you that when understood and embraced, it is a mouthful of the richest of fare. The next time one of your sons or daughters does something shocking, sinful, or shameful, I encourage you to prayerfully consider God’s plans in it. After the initial disappointment has worn off a bit and the appropriate consequences meted out I challenge you to think bigger. Get beyond the self-centered humiliation and you may begin to see things from an entirely different perspective. I have separated the files into the front and back of the tract. We typically have the tracts printed at a professional printer with a light to medium weight paper. The WSCP (Westminster Singing Catechism Project) is still, to this day, a work in progress. It is by no means a professional production, but rather a labor of love, originally and specifically for the edification of the covenant children of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Providence, RI, but also for the church of Christ all over the world. The production is much slower than what a professional would do, mainly because I neither read music, nor do I play an instrument. I can punch out a tune on the electronic keyboard with one hand, much like a child might do, and I have the aid of some recording software on my computer, so that when it's all put together, it sounds fairly acceptable. At least from the results I've seen, I can deduce that much. The result is whole groups of children singing out loudly the answers to the questions of the WSC. At that time I never dreamt that we were dealing with the altar, because I was taught in Tel Aviv University - the center of anti-Biblical tendencies, where I learned that Biblical theories are untrue, and that Biblical accounts were written later, and the like. But we surveyed every meter of the site, and in the course of nine years of excavation, we discovered a very old structure with no parallels to anything we had seen before.
