ELM Kronosaurus

Created by hankinstein on 3/6/07

These tiny replicas of Marx figures appeared in the mid-1950s. They are made of very light, brittle plastic. They are fairly rare (as far as I know). I scored this guy off of Ebay, but had to hand over $15 for him. He still has his box, however, and... See more more

Marx (recast) Green...

Created by hankinstein on 2/1/07

I received him in a lot of dinosaurs from Ebay labeled "Vintage Marx Dinosaurs." I know he's not an original Marx because of all the untrimmed flash (it's just not Marx quality). I suspect it's a recast that went with a playset in the 70s or 80s.... See more more

Marx Woolly Mammoth

Created by hankinstein on 1/31/07

Marx's Mammoth, a very nice rendition of probably the most popular ice age mammal ever. It holds up well, even today. In an additional image above, the Marx Mammoth is compared to the more contemporary Carnegie Safari Mammoth.

Marx T-Rex, Ver.2

Created by hankinstein on 1/31/07

This is the second version of Tyrannosaurus by Marx Toys. The first one, known as the "Pot-Bellied" T-Rex, was released first, in the 1950s. It was more Zallingeresque and stationary, whereas this one is much more dynamic. This figure has been copied... See more more

Marx Waxy Blue Allosaurus

Created by hankinstein on 1/31/07

1970s reissue of the Marx Allosaurus. The later Marx figures were much more brightly colored than the originals, released in the 1950s and 60s.

Marx Green Brontosaurus

Created by hankinstein on 1/30/07

I think this is a 70s reissue. It's not light "waxy" green; as you can see it's more of a darker, gray-green color. There are a few Marx dinosaurs that people refer to as "Sinclair Green" as well, that I believe are recasts, but they are in a much... See more more

Superior (Marx)...

Created by hankinstein on 1/30/07

I have compared this to a picture of one posted by Rick Fulton on Ebay. It's pretty much identical. I believe this is a Superior recast of a Marx figure. Superior recast some of the Marx figures in the 1980s in marbled plastic, and are fairly rare.

Superior Marx Marbled...

Created by hankinstein on 1/30/07

This is a brown and black marbled Hadrosaurus, that I believe was produced by a company called Superior in the 1980s. Superior recast some of the classic Marx dinosaurs and other animals in this unique looking marbled plastic. According to Rick... See more more

Marx Light Purple...

Created by hankinstein on 1/30/07

This is a purple brontosaurus (kind of a pinkish-purple, actually). I think this is a 70s reissue like the other purple brontosaur pictured here. It could also possibly be from the 1980s.

Marx Waxy Green...

Created by hankinstein on 1/30/07

Sphenacodon's one of my favorite Marx figures. Not very many toy companies have made Sphenacodons. The only others I know of were made by Panosh and Linde.

Dark purple, probaby a 70s reissue. I got this guy from a dealer on Ebay. He came in a large lot of various dinosaurs.
